The government organization is an example of a government institution affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology that by creating and using the necessary mechanisms, the field of information technology from the public, public and private sectors through the implementation of policies, regulations, standards and ... Based on national and public interests and security, organizes, guides and directs and controls, and on behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran pursues national interests and communicative policies in the field of information technology through relevant international institutions and forums.

The goals and policies of the government organization are as follows :

• Active and innovative confrontation with cyberspace at the national and global level and its development to the extent of the system's definite readiness (technically and content) to use the opportunities and deal with its threats
• Minimize the country's reliance on other countries in the field of information technology and its functions in technical fields
• Attract and enrich local content and services to maximize domestic needs
• Public education and culture building to increase Internet literacy, raise awareness about the dangers of cyberspace and motivate people to deal with its dangers in personal and social life
• Prioritize content over infrastructure, templates and Internet services and high and continuous investment in the field of mass production and attractive content based on pure Muhammadan Islam and the discourse of the Islamic Revolution
• Maximum participation of committed forces and grassroots organizations in a competitive environment for optimal use of opportunities
• Creative presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in cyberspace in both hardware and software, especially in order to create new, strong and attractive services
• Organizing the exchange of information with the World Wide Web
• Providing the necessary conditions to achieve the highest level of security and health in the country's cyberspace for individuals, the system and all actors in cyberspace
• Considering the conditions of cultural war and consequently establishing the spirit of jihad and expanding interaction and synergy between all institutions and popular forces at the highest level of coordination and cohesion
• Provide the highest level of preparedness to protect critical infrastructure against cyber attacks and to properly defend against any attack
• Maximizing the use of cyberspace in order to communicate and cooperate widely and purposefully with nations, especially Muslim nations, in order to promote and realize the discourse of the Islamic Revolution.
• Strong and purposeful presence of the system in world forums and organizations and the creation of strong coalitions composed of nations and governments in order to reduce the rule of the great powers in the field of Internet and create a fair and moral basis for the use of this tool by all nations and Governments as well as ensuring the rights of the Iranian nation in this area
